Resume must reflect vital skills

A career change demands a resume built with additional care. The person scanning the resumes will be looking forward to find the best suit for his role. He would look for experience in same or similar role, relevant skills and qualifications. When he sees I the resume of a person from another industry or experience in other role, he would not consider it unless he is looking out for such people. So, your resume must answer a number of questions that rise in his mind and convince him to give you a chance to
prove yourself.

Here are a few guidelines to help you:

Research: Find out what exactly the employer is looking out for. Meet the people in the company and people in the specific role if possible to get good information.

Career objective: Since a career objective appears at the beginning of a resume and conveys very important information about the applicant, attention must be given to the content and wording. This is a place where you can suggest why you want the specific role.

Credentials: Include the most relevant academic I qualifications first. While mentioning details of work experience, mention about similar roles first. Then write about the other experience highlighting the aspects that would be helpful to the current role.

Summary: Summary must be written in such a way that you impress upon the reader that you are an achiever. You should convince him that you commit yourself and succeed in whatever you take up. Cite the most impressive achievements, skills, personal attributes and abilities keeping in mind your career goal and general mindset of selectors.

The overall look and feel of the resume must . convince the selector to try you out. It must reflect your abilities and traits that compensate your lack of I experience in the field.
